Dragon Name Generators ("we," "us," or "our") operates dragonnamegenerators.com. This page explains what information is collected when you use this site and how it's used.
Information we collect
- Usage data: aggregate analytics data (pages visited, approximate country-level location derived from a hashed IP address, browser/device type, referring site) via Umami, described below. Your IP address itself is not stored.
- Tool inputs: any values you enter into the name generators on this site are processed in your browser only. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
- Cookies: this site does not set any cookies of its own or any third-party cookies. It uses Umami, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool, to understand overall traffic; Umami doesn't use cookies to do this, so there's nothing here for a cookie to track. See the Cookie Policy for more detail.
How we use this information
We use usage data to understand which generators and pages are useful and to maintain and improve the site. If display advertising is active on this site, it is served by third-party ad networks (see below), which may use cookies or similar technologies to serve relevant ads and may collect data about your visits to this and other websites.
Third-party services
This site uses Umami, a self-hosted, open-source analytics tool, to measure overall traffic (page views and general usage patterns). It's hosted on this site's own infrastructure, not a third-party analytics company's servers, and by design it does not use cookies, does not collect personally identifying information, and anonymizes IP addresses rather than storing them. No cookie consent is required for it under GDPR, CCPA, or the ePrivacy Directive, since it doesn't set cookies or track you across other sites.
No advertising service is confirmed live on this site as of the date above. This site's intended primary monetization is Google AdSense; once that's actually active, this section will name it specifically, along with the cookies or identifiers it sets. In anticipation of that, and in case a visitor reaches this page from the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland: if Google AdSense becomes active, Google's EU User Consent Policy requires this site to obtain your consent, through a certified consent management platform, before setting cookies or using your data for ad personalization, and to disclose every party that receives your data as a result. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
This site does not currently sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act. "Sharing" under California law includes providing data to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, which is why this matters even without a sale of data for money: if Google AdSense personalized advertising goes live on this site in the future, that would likely qualify as "sharing" under CPRA, and this site will add a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals at that point, as California law requires. Until then, there is nothing to opt out of.
European visitors (GDPR / UK GDPR)
This site does not currently set any cookies or use any tracking technology requiring consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive or GDPR. If that changes, non-essential cookies will not be set for EEA, UK, or Swiss visitors until you've given consent through a certified consent management platform, per Google's own EU User Consent Policy requirements for any site running AdSense.
